NPC Spotlight: Atsual Necrosis

A handsomely, striking man is standing not too far away looking in your direction. He wears an odd arraignment of golden, and black metal jewelry fashioned around his hips and trailing down in front of him like a tabard. What appears to be his only clothing is a pair of tough, belted boots, and dark jeans. His skin is slightly tanned, his hair a dirty blonde that spikes up here and there. He smiles warmly in your direction as though you were old friends, and with dark make up lines around his eyes designed to outline his eyes, and form black tears.

There was a time when the Dark Jurai were one race, undivided in goals and character, a time before the deviants of this race became known as the Rohr. When the Dark Juraians fled the planet Jurai, and their attackers they were forced to survive in the unknown depths of space, drifting ever outwards to elude their pursuers. These were dark times for a race that only wished to coexist peacefully with their fellow kin, but they had no choice but to become pirates, looting food and supplies to keep from dieing off.

It was inevitable that some of their race began to enjoy their lives as pirates, though scolded for their actions many were unwilling to punish those who provided for them. A commoner by the name of Shirou Amakusa ascended ranks in the military, often putting himself at the front of the battles to allow his allies to fall back from a less than successful raid. He was passionate, caring and many looked up to him for guidance on whatever ship he happened to be stationed on.

He was one of the first to be gifted with the status of nobility, given the blood of the royal family in an untested fusion technique. It worked; too well perhaps as Shirou seemingly knew how to work his powers he gained only a few years after gaining his noble blood. Kour himself trained Shirou, teaching him how to fully utilize his powers and to fight even better than he could have dreamed.

The years wore on, more and more of the royal house members were dieing off, and much of the fleet had been scattered or lost. Shirou at this time was known as a War Master, and commanded a number of ships and people. He provided when no one else could, he lead well and fought in the toughest of battles without faltering. He reveled in combat, enjoyed it too much, and killed when he didn?t need to. He and his most loyal warriors and ship captains without a shred of mercy given to the primitive inhabitants had eradicated a budding civilization.

When the royal house found out about this they sought to punish him, but they were balked by the overwhelming support of the people who acknowledged him as their savior, the one man who had given them food when they starved. Without any choice given to them, they withdrew their case, but Shirou had long sold his soul to the evil that thrived within him and after seeing that he had the support of the people he made his move.

In a brutal coup d?etat he lead a full half of the people of Dark Jurai against the royal families and the other nobles who clung to their newly awaked leader, Anoron the First Son. It was quick and those who did not support Shirou were killed without a second thought. The battle crippled the already battered and spread out fleet but in the end Shirou was forced to flee with his supporters. The other side of the fleet could not follow his retreat and thus Shirou was able to hide himself and his loyalists away for a long time.

On a world which was in ruins, and the sun there had long been quenched and was nothing more than a black rock. It was here that an advanced civilization had existed, but for the time being Shirou did not care about the ruins he cared about striking back at the Dark Jurai. It was by his rule that he dubbed his race the Rohr, and those with power became known as the Zohr. After his world and his people were secure he left to further his training, coming back to make sure that no upstart had tried to take his place as emperor.

It took a thousand years, but he eventually found a world in the void that was known simple as the School of the Soul. He began to train to master the powers of the soul, often picking fights with the other students to test their limits and his own. He would often spar, friendlily, with Taila, a fellow trainee like him. The would talk about theories and ethics, but while her body seemed to wither away as her master grew, Shirou?s body grew stronger.

It was when Shirou had obtained the title of Master did his name change to that of Atsual Necrosis. He used his power of the soul to take the souls of the fallen warriors he had killed, and back in those days it was not looked down upon. He would often leave for a time and come back to the school a little stronger than when he left, and his friend Tailia would raise in power with him. Again they talked, and they trained more together leaving the others to feel the wake of their powers colliding.

One day Atsual came to her and asked for her to join him and become his wife, she refused. He no longer spared with her, talked with her and in fact passed her without so much as a word spoken. The Grand Master Tza?drou Wailingdoom approached the two masters and told them that he was growing too old, and that he would pass his mastery over to the most suitable of his two pupils, but it would be another year before he announced who would succeed him. Many wondered if the old master would live that long as he was becoming slow and feeble in his age, Atsual himself wondered this often but time would tell.

Atsual could not wait, a month before the announcement Atsual used the captured souls as spying wraiths and used them to spy upon Tza?drou. He learned to his horror that he was not to be named the successor of the school, and that very night he attacked savagely and unrelentingly. A terrible battle between the two ensued, ten students who came to help the master were killed and used as fuel for Atsual?s necrotic powers, the negative energy he could channel was killing the grand master quickly seemingly hurting the old master more easily than it should.

Tailia showed up just in time to watch Atsual strike the final blow on the old grand master, severing the mans head from his body with a blade of negative energy. Tailia reached deep into her own power and swept the soul of Tza?drou and into herself for the time being right before Atsual could absorb it.

Without a second of thought Atsual began his assault on Tailia who was fresh in the fight, but Atsual seemed to be just as fresh. They battled; huge blasts of energy sending buildings to the ground, soul energy exploding in mid air to counter the others attacks. Tailia?s powers and Atsual?s powers were even, but he was more martial trained than her and he quickly closed the gap of their evenness by attacking her physically. Her barriers pushed aside, her shields knocked down and then he grabbed her by the throat first lifting her into the air.

She was at his mercy but he became a little too sadistic and took her by the leg and straightened her out above him. There was a resounding crack as he brought her back down on his knee, followed by her scream of pain. Her back broken Atsual took his time, chocking her one moment, hitting her the next. Her body was paralyzed, and she was helpless against him, but he grew tired of this game and brought his foot up to crush her skull.

He looked down at her for a moment, sadness crossing his face and offered one last time for her to join him. She shook her head and her eyes burned with energy blasting him back, knocking him far away from her and she rose from the ground. Landing on his feet Atsual only had enough time to form a barrier before Tailia unleashed the power that would become her title for years to come, the Soul Storm. The master gave up his power to her and she unleashed it upon Atsual with a vengeance.

When the area cleared, both combatants were on the ground unable to rise. Atsual smiled at her and gave her the allocated salute of a Dark Juraian, then disappeared as his ship came and picked him up. The two had an understanding now, and saw each other as equals.

Years came and went as Atsual?s people fought secret wars with the Dark Juraians, and during one of these battles with Anoron he called upon the power of Cain, his god and infused Anoron with a taint that was known as ?the Mark of The Beast.? He did what he came for and left again, his people fading into history, but never forgotten.

Atsual has gone missing for years, his people written only the most secret of logs, the shame of the Dark Jurai. Now he has renewed his attacks, but this time involving the universe and making his people known. He used a cross and destroyed a Techoren trade world and laughed as he captured as many souls as he could from the now dead world. The alliance turned to the Dark Jurai, casting blame and suspicions on them again, thus Atsual, by the orders of Cain, had divided the universe again.

Well Wizzlim even took a shot at doing just that, was going good for awhile to but Astual and his soul gems proved to much for even him it was long at the intervention of Taila herself was Wizzlim able to survivie. Hes a nasty individal serving one of the darkest gods and leading one of the most vile armies known to the Alliance. By all means hes wanted, very much dead. But its not something as easily achieved we many would like, but your welcome to try.

Yes, in all honesty, I was very surprised to last that long against him...even if he was pulling his punches, he still had quite a spread as far as powers go on Wizzlim.

I don't know if it was just quick thinking and good RPing or what. But, yes, had Tailia not shown up, Wizzlim would have been consumed in Balefire.

It was an awesome battle, one I hope to do again very soon.
