Jurai: People of Importance

The Emperor Teslatum: The reigning emperor is the 6th Emperor of Jurai, and has ruled for so many eons few Juraian’s can remember a time before him. He is considered a kind but intolerant leader and few dare speak out about him. Proud and easily insulted, the Emperor of Jurai is an exceedingly powerful individual on the verge of god hood, those who cross him do so at their own folly.

Psi Crusher, Supreme Rexalin Thane: Rexalin is a long time friend of the Emperor, dating back to before the Emperors ascension to the throne. Eccentric and quirky Rexalin is the unquestioned leader of the Jurai Psi Crushers, a potent telepath he serves as the Emperors personal interrogator. In recent times Rexalin has become quiet fascinated in arcane lore.

Knight Guardian Latin Veil: Latin serves the role of commander of the Emperors elite guard, charged with the protection of the Emperor himself and all of the royal court. A bold and charismatic man, Latin is both a master swordsmen and expert tactician. It is believed he also possesses the ability to read and influence peoples feelings and emotions.

Arch Priestess Aurora: 200 years ago Aurora was prompted to the position of head of the powerful church of Tsunami. Since then she has busied herself with spreading the way of the fair lady across the Juraian worlds, although in recent years has focused on the increase in demonic incursions. A former lover of the legendry Knight Shijimbo, Aurora still retains close ties to this hero of old.

Crown Prince Orsen Jurai: Eldest son of the Emperor Orsen has earned his place at his father’s side. A brilliant swordsmen and master of the arts of elemental flame, Orsen has earnt the command of his own legion of troops. A proud and self assured man he has been shamed by Anoron’s divine claim to eternal flame. Many believe if anything happened to the emperor Orsen would ascend the throne.

Empress Yin Chei: Most favoured of the Emperors many wives Yin unsurprisingly possess striking beauty. She is also an accredited historian and possesses a wealth of knowledge on ancient cultures, lores, history, relics, myths, legends, and artefacts. Some believe Yin Chei is part celestial but this is yet to be confirmed. Yin Chei also holds a unique power in that she is able to mimic the powers of any nearby individual.

Knight General Anark: Holding the title of Knight General makes Anark the most powerful man in Jurai, second only to the Emperor himself. Cunning and driven Anark gained the Emperors favour when he assassinated the Dark Juraian Princess Simarla. Following the Knight Shijimbo’s disgraceful defeat and resulting demotion Anark was soon prompted to Knight General. A master of the art of elemental earth many believe him to be unstoppable on the battle field. Anark himself believes Shijimbo to be a washed up has been and belittles him at every opportunity.

Knight Scion Shijimbo: Once the favoured champion of the Emperor and supreme commander of the Juraian military, many consider him to be but a shadow of his former self. Shijimbo’s downfall occurred in the last great Jurai/Dark Jurai war when he failed to assassinate the child Princess Mystic and was forced to withdraw in defeat, since then many have noticed a change in his personality. Despite this loss of faith many still revere him as a hero of the past.

Knight Guardian Leeshin: Born to a rich noble family Leeshin showed promising psychic ability and so was enlisted into Psi Crusher training. Upon its completion she enlisted with the Juraian military for a term of full service. A deadly telekineticest and seasoned veteran Leeshin has achieved a rank few female soldiers could ever hope to dream. She now stands as one of the Emperors favoured Knights and commands a vast array of elite veteran troops.

An interesting list. All are formidable individuals. Of them, the ones I like least is Anark and the Emperor himself. However, while I see Anark as the type who would do anything to get ahead, I dislike the Emperor primarily because of his stance on the Dark Jurai. Of them all, I think Shijimbo is the most interesting of those on the list.

One thing notably missing is anyone in charge of diplomatic affairs. The Techoren list of figures had individuals dedicated to every conceivable aspect of governance and diplomacy, while this one appears to be more limited in scope.
