*He swivaled around in his chair pointing to a large stellar map*
"The story starts on the world of Alsharair, a small forgotten planet on the very edge of Juraian space, more commmonly known as Inpenra, as it was remained by Dominon colonists several hundred years ago."
*He looked down for a moment at his notes before continuing*
"Inpenra has always been a home to ruins and lost civilzations. The world was first documented by the Jurai, at the very end of there expanionist drive. At the time they gave it the name Alsharair, and it and its small elf population was considered part of the Jurai empire."
"Juraian scientists where shocked to discover the ruins of empires that vastly predated the Juraians own. Some where obviously of elven origin, destroyed in a war with an alien race, discribed only as psionic vampires, there nightmarsh ruins concealed within the anicent landscape. But a few where even older than that, deifing all atttempts to access their seemingly infinite age."
"However, this discovery disproved the beliefe that the Juraian empire was the most anicent of races, discrediting the theory of rulership the Jurai had used to claim lordship of hundreds of worlds. The world was qurenteened off, eventualy removed from record databases, and ulimatly forgotten."
*He leaned back into his chair*
"Several hundred years ago however, Dominon explorers encountered the world. Located so far from there home system they believed it the idle location to set up an advanced research base. The world was named Inpenra and it wasnt long before a bustling society has taken root."
"But the world was just to far from the Dominon's center, it took to long for research supplies to arrive, and the ruling goverment began to fair it couldnt adquestly defend the advanced research being conducted. So the factuility was closed down, and Dominon interest in the world faded."
"About 100 years ago the world began to be plagued by constant orc attacks, demeaned of little importance the Dominon could not spare the troops for its defence. Its human population put up resistance, but was eventualy forced to abandon the planet."
*He grinned now as he leaned forward, putting both hands on the desk again*
"Inpenra was left forgotten, that is, untill just recently. Pariah explorers encountered the world alittle over a few weeks ago, and utilising advanced sensors not avaiable all those eons ago, they where able to detect a powerful energy source enmating from one of the planets ruins. They immeditaly setup a base camp and started excavating."
*He took a deep breath and slowly let it out*
"I am proud to tell you that just over an hour ago the Pariah research team uncovered the artifact, identifed to be of ailen origin. However, they unable to identify what it is, what it might have been used for, or how it survived for so long. The Pariah have decided to call for scientific assistance from the rest of the alliance, and will be holding a convention of top scientists on Inpenra."
"In the next GNN update we hope to be coming live to you, from the surface of Inpenra, as we unraval the mystery of this mysterious artifact that may just predate all the empires of the alliance itself. Stay tuned."

*The camera shows a young woman, probably of Juraian origins with her small stature and fine gowns, shes standing on what you presume is a stone street surrounded by the crumbling ruins of ailen statures.*
"Hi, I'm Ellareia, and this is the world of Alsharair, wear just one week ago Pariah explorers discovered a mystery artifact, now confirmed to predate the existence of alliance empires."

"This is the artifact, dubbed Enigmus Virtus by its Pariah discover. Words can not describe the intensity of its light, which has been dulled for this transmission and requries special lenses to look directly within."
"So just what is the Enigmus Virtus you ask? Well thats what the scientifc convention are here to decide. We do know it is a large crystaline sphere of a perfect 1 meter dimenature. Its shape and form appear flawless, despite its age, and it is composed of a substance denser than diamond, although this substance has yet to be identifed, if it even can be."
"But that doesnt explain what it is. For that we interviewed several of the scientists involed to hear there upons of it."

<He speaks> "The Enigmus Virtus seems to be radiating energy, an emense amount of energy. Attempts to read the exact output of this energy have failed thus far, but i have worked on the Sphere before and the only thing similar in output i've ever seen to this is the Solarus Plant, which tapes directly into the Spheres encased Sun."
*The image of the Proffesser changes, it now appears to be a young handsome man dressed in regal gowns. The title reads 'Royal Scientist Ziean Tenderson - Jurai'*
<He speaks> "Study of the object has revealed it to be composed of a crystaline power matrix. While the Jurai have encountered this technology before, never have we seen anything this advanced, or operating in this fashion. The materical substance of the device is appearing to be harder than any known substance to date, although this is only speculation. Further more, we believe the outter shell is acting as some sort of filter for whatever is inside. While the device continues to release record amounts of energy, no negative, harmful, or dangerous effects, such as radaition, heat, soul curruption, or induced psionic instability, appear to be released. Given the amount of energy involed, this should impossible."

<She speaks> "The energy being released by the Enigmus Virtus has proven to be a pure and unpollutated strain. Because of this the energy appears easly aditable to current technologies. While testing is only in the early phases, we feel confident that it will meld well with most existing technologies. Already a Techoren power cell has been converted successfully to hold a charge, although we have failed to successfully fire a weapon with it as yet. The potential of this device is almost unimaginable."
*The side window desappears focusing back on Ellariea again*

You see a line of three armor plated Techoren apc's, mini gun turrets mounted on top, a broad barreled hovertank on eitherside. A squad of Techoren troops, lightly armored with assulat rifles apperently securing the area*
<She spoke> "As you can see Trev the Techoren forces are working quickly to secure the area. I havnt seen any signs of hostiality yet, but they appear to think its an immediate threat."
<A male voice spoke, you reckonised it as Trev Stallion, from the earlier footage> "And just how long ago did they arrive Ellairea, and do you know why?"
<She paused, either in thought or having a delay before reciving the message> "They arrived just alittle over an hour ago, under the command of a Colonal Mugal, apperentaly with orders to transport the Enigmus Virtus to a undisclosed secure location."
<Trev's voice> "So then what appears to be the problem?"
<She glanced back over her shoulder at the convey then back to the camera> "Its not known if the scientific convention present originaly Oked the transport or not, but its apparent there are stiff objections to it now."
<Trevs Voice> "Objections? What sort of objects? Given the close proximity of Orc bands in the area wouldnt they wish to see it moved to a safer location?"
<Ellairea> "Thats correct Trev, and in that they are all actually in agreement. The problem is arguments have broken out as to which empire has the greater right to the artifact. Each seems to believe that their empire should obtain possession."
<She continued> "One Juraian offical can be quoted, for example, saying that 'Alsharair has and always will be a Juraian world. As such any and all artifacts found upon it are legal property of the divine emperor, to say otherwise is to spit into the face of his sovereignty."
"To which a Techoren retorited, 'We have the most advanced scientific faculities within all the alliance, it would be to the greater benefeit of all if ownership was relinquished to us, so we could better learn and understand its secrets."
<Trev's voice> "I see, so a power struggle has broken out between these two factions then?"
<She shock her head> Oh no Trev, not just these two. The Dark Jurai has laid claim to it as well, stating an urgent need for the militry potential this device possess's. Additionaly the Pariah have also made claims, that as the artifacts discovers, ownership automaticaly defaults to them. Further more, a message just recently arrived from the Earth Dominon, stating that Inpenra is still a Dominon world, that all factions are tresspassing here, and that the Enigmus Virtus belongs to them and should be immedialty returned."
<Trev> "Well it certainly sounds like things are heating up down there."
<She nodded> It sure is Trev, and as always GNN will have you cov-
<One of the Techoren soldiers walked over, seeming to butt in on Ellairea> "Those pencil pushing calculators better hurry up with a decesion before somebody else makes it for them."
<She glanced over at him> "And just what is that suppose to mean Sir"
<He glanced at her with a sterm face> "No comment!" <he held his hand up blocking the camera view as he turned walking off> "No comment!!"
<Ellairea turned back to the camera now> "Well there you have it, a very tense situation is starting up right here, live on Alshairar, stay tuned for any breaking news updates."

<Annoucment> We interrupt your normal viewing to bring you this breaking on the field report <alitlte jingle plays and you see the GNN Logo on screen>
*The logo fades and a new image comes on screen, it shows a ruined landscape again, and you can see Ellairea facing the camera, but shes somewhat hunched over, glancing distractedly over her shoulders. The sounds of automatic fire fills the air, the screaming whistles of descending bombs and then there savage explosions echoed the hallowed streets.*
*In the background you could see the three armored transports pulled up in a defensive formation, soldiers firing their guns over the tops of them, barking orders at each other. There was no sign of the earlier hover tanks*
<Ellairea glanced back at the camera, seemingly releasing they'd gone live> "Hi I'm Ellairea and this is the world of Alsharair. As you can see, all chaos has broken out."
*A few bullets whistled close buy and she ducked lower, crouching over the ground now, giving a nervous glance about before continuing*
"About 3 hours ago an unidentifed force attacked the scientific compound. They punched multiple holes in the secuirty preminiter and closed in on the Enigmus Virtus. The Techoren 107th Ravens escort troop put up considerable resistence, delaying the enemy force at immence cost, allowing the Virtus and Pariah expedition to flee into the plantery terrain. We thought they may have succeded, but 1 hour ago-"
*there was an explosion of blood from the face of one of the Techoren soldiers in the background, he stumbled backwards, his weapon firing eridcatly before collapsing into a heap on the ground.*
"-... but 1 hour ago we lost contact with them. It is now unknown if they have continued to evade enemy capture or if the Enigmus Virtus has been taken. The inital enemy force withdrew hours ago, however something has stirred up the local orc population and we have been under heavy assulat by them since."
*A mortar came crashing down behind one of the APC's, scattering several soldiers in an explosion of dirt, hot sharpnal and human flesh. The explosion was followed by a bellowing warcry and then the sounds of trampling feet. The remaning soldiers let rip with their weapons and gurgled screams could be heard. Then the first of the orcs leaped up on top of the APC's, he was quickly cut to ribbons but more of his kind followed. Their bullets rained into the soldiers below as they tried to fall back, then a large burly orc charged forward, bullets thudding into his skin and body armor, his massive cleave swiping down, cutting a soldier in half.*
<Random voices> "Fall back! Fall Back!" "To the tower!" "The towers been taken!" "We're surruounded" "Get down!" "Urgh" *Gurgle* "Getz them Boyz! GETZ THEM ALL!"
<Ellairea looked pale, she'd gone as white as a ghost, then the camera spun, looking off into the distance, then started bobbing up and down as you heard the sounds of heavy breathing and equaly heavy footsteps. Ellairea's voice could be heard still but she was breathing hard, it seems they where running> "Our positions been overrun, we're attempting to fall back and make contact with-" *their was the sounds of pinging bullets off something and then the screen went blank and all noised stopped.*
*An image of Trev sitting at his desk came up now. He looked alittle shocked.* "It seems the alliance took to long in relocating the Enigmus Virtus.... god help them now... We'll be back with you once we restablish contact with our guys in the ground. For now we return you to your regular viewing."
